A surprise visit…

Mr. Cheung was kept as a detainee for months at the detention centre.  While there he attended a Christian gathering every Wednesday evening.  He made his decision for Christ in one of those gathering and was baptised a month ago.  It was last Wednesday that he told our sisters that he longed to see his sister who would arrive in London Sunday afternoon.  He asked God for the chance to meet his sister.  God answered him in a big way – He was granted papers to stay in UK and was released from the detention centre last Friday.  On Sunday he made his way to “Harrow on the hill” station which was about a 10 minutes walk to church.  He got off the subway at ten in the morning, hoping to make it to Sunday worship at 11:30am.  In one hand he had a picture of his baptism (him and Gus)which was kindly printed in colour and was given to him by the Chaplan of the detention centre.  In the other hand he has Gus’ business card.  He was asking the pedestrians if they have seen this guy in the picture and if they know about the location of the church that he was trying to find.  He kept walking in the area for almost two hours and was about to give up when he saw a Chinese Restaurant.  The owner of the restaurant pointed him in the right direction.  The usher that day who happened to be a member of the detention ministry welcomed him and brought him all the way to the front and sat him next to Gus.  Gus was pleasantly surprised and put his arms around him passing his communion cup to Mr. Cheung.  Mr. Cheung took his first communion and later shared his testimony with others at the church during lunch.
